The Mayweather vs McGregor Boxing fight will take place on August 26.
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor meet in Las Vegas in August after ending many months of speculation over whether they would fight.
The pair are giants in fighting – Mayweather, still unbeaten after 49 professional bouts; McGregor the biggest name in UFC.
Will the Mayweather vs McGregor Boxing fight use boxing or UFC rules?
This contest will be 12 rounds of three minutes.
The fight will be held under boxing rules, presenting a huge challenge for mixed martial artists McGregor as he faces off against one of the greatest defensive boxers in history.
Adding to McGregor’s challenge, the fighters will be using 10-ounce boxing gloves instead of the smaller UFC gloves and he will not be allowed to use the leg kicks or takedowns that are used in mixed martial arts.
McGregor will weigh in at 154 pounds, UFC president Dana White told ESPN in June.
Still lucrative, but not on PPV scale, is sponsorship and merchandise. According to ESPN, pre-fight estimates for Mayweather-Pacquiao put sponsorship at around €13million, with beer company Tecate spending around $5.6million. Merchandise totalled around $1million.
